5 days special cultural tour

This tour is special for exploring the cultural diversity of Tanzania. In this 5-day tour, you will meet wonderful tribes – the pride of Tanzania. You may meet with the Chagga, Datoga, Hadzabe, and Maasai. You will also visit Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater to discover its diverse wildlife. This program will commence and end in Arusha.

Day 1: Chagga Caves at Marangu

After breakfast, we drive to the town of Marangu. The Chagga inhabit the town of Marangu. This day will be special for exploring the Chagga tribe. The Chagga Caves were built as a defensive mechanism from the Maasai attacks in the dry season. After seeing the caves, the next part will be a coffee tour, Chagga museum, and other activities. You will return to your accommodation in Arusha.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. This Park is a 2-hour drive from Arusha. The old baobab trees and large elephant herds characterize Tarangire National Park. You will also spot many animals such as buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, and much more. After enjoying the views of wildlife, we will head to your accommodation. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night.

Day 3: Lake Eyasi (Datoga and Hadzabe)

Lake Eyasi is on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, south of the Ngorongoro Highlands. It lies between the Eyasi escarpment and the Kidero Mountains.

What is more fascinating about this lake is the Hadzabe. Alongside the Hadzabe is the Datoga – a Nilotic-speaking tribe. Today, we visit these unique people. The Hadzabe Bushmen still live in the hunting and gathering way of life. We will visit the homesteads of these people and you may engage in gathering roots and hunting. You will relax at an accommodation at Lake Eyasi.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, & Shifting Sands

After breakfast, we leave the hotel for the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a morning drive through this spectacular caldera. You will get views of wild animals including the Big Five. After lunch, we will drive to the Olduvai Gorge. At Olduvai Gorge, you will learn more about the history of man in the Olduvai Museum. We then take a drive to the shifting sands. They are said to move a distance of 15 to 29 meters per year. After an unforgettable experience, you will drive back to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
