7 Days Kilimanjaro Climb - Machame Route
Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our English-speaking guide. After a warm welcome and greetings, you will be on the way to Moshi for check-in at your lodge. After checking in at the lodge, you can listen to a short brief from your guide about the details of your program. You will also check all the necessary gear needed for a Kilimanjaro climb. A dinner will follow and an overnight sleep.

- Day 1: Arrival Day and transfer to the lodge
Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our English-speaking guide. After a warm welcome and greetings, you will be on the way to Moshi for check-in at your lodge. After checking in at the lodge, you can listen to a short brief from your guide about the details of your program. You will also check all the necessary gear needed for a Kilimanjaro climb. A dinner will follow and an overnight sleep.
- Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Wake up early in the morning and prepare your packs. After breakfast, our mountain guide will pick you up and drive to the Machame Gate. The drive takes about 50 minutes and it passes through the Machame village, giving you an authentic view of this local village. At the Machame Gate, you will register with the officials and begin the hike through the rainforest. You will hike until you reach the first camp, the Machame Camp. Enjoy dinner and an overnight sleep.

- Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Your guide will prepare a hot breakfast. After breakfast, you will leave the glades of the rainforest and proceed on an ascending path. You will then cross a little valley and hike along a heath-covered steep rocky ridge until it ends. The route will turn west into a river gorge and the hike will continue until you reach the Shira Camp. Take time to relax, have dinner, and sleep overnight.

· Distance: 5 km
- Day 4: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, hike to the east up a ridge and pass the junction toward the Kibo. You will then hike in the southeast direction toward Lava Tower (also called the “Shark’s Tooth”). Shortly, after a short hike from the Lava Tower, you will reach the second junction to the Arrow Glacier (16,000ft). You will then continue your hike down to the Barranco Camp. Here, you will rest, eat dinner, and sleep overnight. This day’s hike will end up at almost the same elevation as you started.

· Habitat: Semi-desert
- Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
On this day, you will hike through the semi-desert into an alpine desert. After breakfast, you will leave the Barranco Camp and continue the hike on a steep ridge crossing the Barranco Wall to the Karanga Valley campsite. The hike is short and is meant for acclimatization.

- Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
This day’s hike will begin after a hot breakfast. After a short hike from Karanga Camp, you meet the junction that links to the Mweka Trail. The hike will continue until you reach the Barafu Camp. This day’s hike is short. You will have an early dinner and go to bed in preparation for the summit attempt that will begin shortly.

- Habitat: Alpine Desert
- Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha to Zanzibar
At 23:30, you
will wake up and prepare for the awaited hike. This is the most challenging
part of the Kilimanjaro climb. The hike will begin at midnight and you will
pass between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. The hike becomes very challenging as
you approach the Stella Point (18,600 ft). Take a short rest at this point,
rehydrate, and bite some energy-giving snacks. Ascend through the snow to the
summit. Enjoy the illuminating sunrise as you approach the summit. At Uhuru
Peak, you are on the highest point in Africa. Congratulations!
After enjoying the views, feeling, and taking
pictures while at the summit. Afterward, you will start the descent stopping at
Barafu Camp for lunch. As you hike down, gaiters
and trekking poles will assist you in losing gravel. You will arrive at Mweka Hut enjoy your last dinner on the mountain and sleep overnight.

- Hiking Time: 7-8 hours ascent/4-6 hours descent

- Day 8: Mweka Camp to Moshi
After breakfast at Mweka Camp, continue your walk downhill to Mweka Gate where you will be awarded certificates for your achievement of reaching the highest peak in Africa. Our safari driver will be waiting for you at Mweka Gate to congratulate you and transfer you to your accommodation
